This digipak is very interesting because there are a lot of mysterious imagery on here that gets the audience thinking a lot. The car on the front looks quite old and beaten up which fits to the genres generic conventions so when people who like this specific genre see this album cover it will encourage them and make them want to give the album a chance because the images are appealing to them. The image on the back is intriguing because the people almost look as if they are silhouettes so it looks very mysterious and gets the audience thinking and asking questions such as 'who are these people and what relevance do they have to the band or the album?'. Having things like this encourage the audience to use their imagination more which sparks more curiosity which can help them to buy the album. A music video is a short film accompanied with music and imagery. They are mainly produced for promotional or artistic purposes. In modern day they are usually made to promote the album of the artist or to promote the song further. There are many cases in which a music video has been a way to promote merchandise or even a movie. Music videos have been around for a very long time but became a lot more popular when the TV channel 'MTV' aired on TV the music video titled 'video killed the radio star'. Although this was the time music videos began to become very popular, this was not the first music video. The video considered the first 'music video' was called 'St Louis Blues' by Bessie Smith. The music video involved Bessie Smith drinking and singing to the song which is considered a music video. It was released in 1914, way before music videos were even a thing. How effective is the combination of the main product and ancillary tasks? The combination of our ancillary products and our music video is very effective as we have used the same scene throughout the entire thing. We decided we wanted to have the main character sitting in front of the fire to be the signature scene of the music video and we wanted to incorporate that into our magazine advert and digipak. This is because it’s a very memorable moment in the music video for the character and it represents what the whole song is about and the theme.
