Analysis of Ancillary Products

Things i like about this magazine advert is the photo in the background, the setting is much like a indie rock setting and it fits the conventions because most indie rock settings are fairly vague and low budgey. The car also looks beaten up and old which also links to the genre because the clothes and other things in indie music videos are old and low budget which fits to the genre perfectly. The colours are fairly vague too except the blood which sticks out a lot which links to the name of the song which is bad blood so there is a good connotation there. It could also get audiences thinking and could have a mysterious feel to it such as 'who's blood is it?' 'where is the blood leading to?' there could be a story behind it and the audience will be intrigued by it.

I like the font style because it's a reoccurring thing with the band which will draw the fans in and make them interested because when they see that font style they'll realise that its Bastille. Another thing that interests me is the the fact that the font on the location is bolder than the rest of it, this is good because it can emphasise the location which is good for the band because when the audience look at this they'll see the tour locations first which means they can decide which one is closest and which one they'll be able to attend to. The location is always the most important thing on a tour poster because without having the locations the audience will not know where its taking place so having them in a bolder text can catch their eye and its the first thing they'll see.

This will help when making our own because we know the different sort of generic conventions that the band's posters and art include along with the generic conventions of the genre as a whole which is good because we can take those ideas and add them to our products which makes it as much like the genre as possible.
