Purpose Of Magazine Adverts And Digipaks

The purpose of magazine adverts are for the artist to get noticed by a bigger group of people and it's also good promotion for their upcoming album or single that could be close to releasing. It's even better if it's on the front cover because you don't even have to buy the magazine, you could just walk past it and see it and then become interested and want to know more. This is great promotion for artists because it gets their name spoken about even with people who might not even enjoy their music or might not enjoy that genre. It shows they're the most important one if they are on the front cover. On the other hand, if the magazine was targeted to a specific genre then it would definitely attract more people because they are drawn to that genre which means the artist is attracting people from the genre that they music for.

The purpose of a digipak is to promote the album but is also used to make the album seem more eye catching by adding extra things such as posters or leaflets with lyrics or producer credits on them. They not only attract the big fans more but also attract not so big fans because it shows they are getting more with their purchase than just the album.

When making our own we need to consider the genre, because then we can see what generic conventions are within the genre so we can put it into our own in order to make it appealing to the target audience.
