What makes a good student music video

In order to make a good student music video, you should not reinvent the wheel and by that you should not create something entirely original because you dont know whether it is actually going to be successful or not so try and do something that has already been done but just change it up slightly to show you have original ideas.

For mise have some good props in order to make it as realistic as possible so for example, if you're music video's sole narrative is about Polaroid photos, actually go and get a real Polaroid rather than making it by painting a piece of paper black. I would also suggest you pick a good location for your music video because the setting has to have some sort of connotation with the music video, so if you're music video was about a person being lost it could be in a field because fields are big and easy to get lost in, or you could choose a forest which are even harder to get lost in and it's good because it adds good tension to the music video and gives a better feel to it.

For editing i would say that the lip syncing has to be good otherwise it is really not going to look good because no one wants to see the lips moving and the song saying something completely different. It also makes it look a lot better if the person lip syncing actually knows the lyrics off by heart because if not, they would most likely have to read off of something and the music video does not look good when the person is clearly seen reading off of something in the music video. It makes it look a lot better if the person knows the lyrics because it makes it look more professional.

For camera i would suggest that when doing camera angles that the camera isn't shaky in anyway possible unless its intentional, try using a tripod because the camera angles are much better when they are still and not shaky because it lets the audience see the music video better and gives them more of a chance to see whats going on and understand the things in the video.

What i can take from this is how to make mine as much like a music video as possible in order for me to be able to get the highest marks as possible.

Music video questionnaire analysis Here are some of the results that I got from the questionnaire I carried out: All the people asked were males  All the people asked were under the age of 18  They all answered yes to 'do you like watching music videos'  There was a fairly diverse amount of answers for what the persons favourite genre is  A lot of people said they prefer narrative and performance based videos equally rather than preferring one of them Everyone who answered said they like special effects and animation  From this research i can gather that i need to include both narrative and performance based factors in my music videos because that is what is more preferred than including one of them. It also shows that i have a range of skills and can include different types of music videos rather than using one.

The definition of viral in terms of an image or a video is something that rapidly circulates the internet from user to user in a matter of days. Chocolate rain is a viral song that was released in 2007 by a person called Tay Zonday and it has been viewed over 114 million times on YouTube. It was ranked the hottest viral video in 2007 and was given a YouTube award in 2008 under the music category. The music video simply involved Tay Zonday standing in a room singing into a microphone. One thing that made it viral was when Tay would move away from the mic to breathe in because he held his breath when singing, this led to this segment of the video being parodied. The show became so popular that it led to being performed by Tay Zonday on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. It even blew up to the point where it was mentioned in an episode of South Park along with the Office.
